It hadn't been long since all of them had returned from Camelot to this town. Lily wasn't quite sure what had happened, but, all she knew was that there was now a darkness inside Emma. A darkness she probably should've gotten put in her a long time ago, if she was being honest with her thinking. But, at the same time she had never really expected the goody goodie saviour Emma to ever really have to fight it. The way she had, and, still does.

After changing out of her clothes from work, Lily made her way to the place that she knew Emma was hiding out in. It didn't seem like the kind of place, a possible princess would be. But, it would definitely be the location of someone who didn't want to be around people she loved when you have a dark power inside of yourself that is strong enough to overcome any other thought in your head.

Lily snuck her way through the yard of this house practically undetected, and, knew that the best way to sneak into somewhere like this was to take a more obvious entrance. No-one expected intruders to take a more obvious entrance, so Lily placed her hands in her pockets as she went around to the side window. One thing she had gotten good at throughout her childhood was sneaking into smaller places, such as through windows or through other ways such as doggie doors. Those ones were tricky, but, she'd managed to do it. Eventually.

Letting out a soft sigh, Lily climbed into the window of Emma's isolated mansion, and, softly landed on the floor below. This was the first time she'd seen inside this place since she'd gotten to this town, and, it seemed actually kind of cool. But, that could be her own inner darkness talking there.

She reached for the eggshell necklace around her neck, and, gripped it tightly all of a sudden. There wasn't alot that frightened her, but, while she was still getting used to everything in this strange town, including the magic, it made her a tad more jumpy. Lily was being as silent as she possibly could. She didn't know where abouts to find Emma, but, Lily knew she was in this house somewhere.

Lily found herself distracting by something on the mantle, and, it wasn't long before she heard a noise behind her. Jumping slightly, Lily turned around, and, suddenly spotted Emma standing behind her. "Well, that was surprisingly easy" Lily found herself muttering to herself. She then looked at Emma, and, squinted "You look different Emma. Did you do something new with your hair?"

When Killian had enacted the curse, Emma had no choice but to rip away his memories and everyone that knew about Killian being a second Dark One. It was harsh, but what could she do about that? Sometimes things had to be done differently, and this gave her some more time to stop Killian from destroying her family.

She had been working in the basement, where excaliber still rested in its stone. Emma was figuring out how to get that darn thing out in the first place, and Rumplestiltskin wasn’t very helpful.
Then, Emma sensed that someone had broken in her house. Darn those people and their pesky ways of intruding.
Emma snapped her fingers, while dark smoke swiveled around her taking her to the main room, only to spot Lily checking around her belongings.
She raised her eyebrows, why would Lily, out of all people; want to be near her. Wasn’t she looking for her father?

When Lily said that it was easy finding her, Emma inwardly sighed but showed no emotion. So naive. Lily should’ve known better than to mock her. “What are you doing here?” She avoided the question, getting right to the point. She didn’t really want any distractions around her while she dealt with freeing Hook of the darkness. This also meant a long lost friend trying to interfere with her life.


“She broke into your house.. That’s not very nice.”
Emma shut her eyes in annoyance, trying to block out those darn Dark Ones from clouding her judgement.
She raised her hand, and the illusion was gone.
“You know that’s not how it works.” The past Dark One spoke, appearing in front of her. “I’m in.. here.” He said, poking her head.
Emma seemed to look at something that was going on in front of her, apparently not paying attention to Lily.

Lily looked at Emma as she leant backwards against the table. This wasn't the Emma that she remembered, the Emma she remembered was this goodie goodie Saviour who was everyone's perfect child. And, it was that Emma that she had liked and wanted to be friends with. Lily knew that if Emma really had the darkness within her, she would've shot her that day, instead of listening to that woman Regina. So, Lily wasn't going to let Emma lose that now. Even if it would make things the way they should've been before the darkness was put in her instead.

Coming out of her thoughts, Lily looked around as she heard Emma's question, and, was about to answer it when she noticed Emma acting a bit off. Strangely it was a look Lily recognised, trying to blink the voices away from her head. "I'm here to try and help you." Lily said, looking straight at Emma, a serious tone in both her eyes and voice.

That wasn't a lie, for once she was being completely honest. Lily wanted to help the person she once called her best friend, and, this 'inner darkness' thing was one of the things she knew the most about. Lily glanced around the room, before hearing her own voice in her head speaking. She'd gotten good at blocking it out, well, for a while she could.

Lily ran her hand over her necklace before clearing her throat and speaking again. "Let me take a wild guess Emma, you have a voice in your head telling you that the decisions you're making are the right ones to make for everyone." Lily was sure she already knew the answer to that question, but, she wanted to try and work her way into the conversation.

Emma awaited an answer from Lily, after being able to control the rather dark voices in her head. Her patience, however, was kinda short when the woman didn’t reply right away. It seemed Lily was busy checking out her belongings.
“Help.. me?” She said, raising her eyebrows while barely moving at all. It didn’t seem to faze Emma that Lily offered help. “Help me with what, exactly.”
Lily had no reason to help Emma, same thing turned around. Lily was looking for her father, Emma didn’t bother helping her search because of the difficult past they both had. She knew Lily was reunited with Malificent, but as far as she was concerned; finding Lily’s father was none of her business.
Again, Lily looked around. Which annoyed Emma. Not only did Lily disturb her, but now she was also wasting her time.
Though, when Lily said exactly what was going on in her head, Emma crossed her arms.
“And how would you know anything about that?” She asked, her voice having no emotion to it. Like she was unable to relate to what Lily had said. Then it clicked. Lily had always had Emma’s darkness inside her.
“Oh don’t tell me you’re here to encourage me to fight it, because then you’re already too late.” She made a gentle bow, being very casual about the whole situation. “Stop wasting my time, I don’t need any of this.” She turned around, walking towards the door. “Now be a good girl and let yourself out.”

“Yeah Emma. Help you. As hard as it may believe” Lily said, looking at Emma. “With this darkness thing you’ve got.” Lily knew exactly how it felt to be stuck in a darkness that you couldn’t escape from. She’d had it her whole life, and, it wouldn’t stop no matter what.

Lily knew she had no real reason to help her, they hadn’t spoken in years. But, Emma had still been the best friend she’d ever known, even if she had rejected and sent her away. And, that feeling hadn’t stopped, underneath all of the anger towards both her and her parents. Lily would help in anyway she could, no matter whether she wanted it or not.

She couldn’t stop her curiousity causing her to look around the room, before turning back to face one of her oldest friends, and, laying it all on the line. The truth was she already knew the answer to it, without having to really hear Emma say it.

“I think you already know that answer Emma. If not, I’m sure your parents could answer it.” Lily had been forced to have that darkness inside of her from the moment she was born, and, it was all thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Perfect Charming.

“Look Emma, I’m not here to tell you to fight it exactly. Because sometimes it’s not possible.” Lily watched Emma bow before resisting the urge to roll her eyes. “I’m not here to waste your time. You may not be able to completely fight it, but, there is a way to ignore the voices that come with it.” Lily sighed and went to make her way out before stopping. “Ok, I’ll go, but, before I do. Think about it really. Who knows more about this stuff then me?” Lily said softly, turning to look at Emma, before continuing to leave the house.

Emma couldn’t help but chuckle darkly when Lily confirmed that she wanted to help her. Why would Lily even want to help her. She had Emma’s potential darkness inside her, a great reason to hate her or perhaps even kill her. But help?
“You think you understand, but you don’t.” Emma paused, walking around Lily without ever looking away from her. “This darkness, this power..” Then, she moved her hands so that she was referring to Lily. “All you have, is the power to turn into a dragon. Impressive, really. Now let me tell you something, do dragons see in black and white, or color?” Emma was mocking Lily, because she really did not want anyone to be close to her. Emma could fix this, she could work it out alone; and acting all heartless and rude would scare away everyone that tried to care.

“Oh yes.. you have my potential darkness inside you. But that is nothing compared to what I am dealing with right now. You can’t relate, Lily.” She said, now a hint of annoyance in her voice.

Emma crossed her arms when Lily said that sometimes fighting wasn’t possible. She silently agreed on that, though Lily was still wasting her time. Emma could’ve found a way to pull excaliber out by now.
She tilted her head slightly to the right when Lily mentioned something that had her possible interest. The voices were one of the pains that came with being the Dark One, she really wondered how Gold dealt with these things.

“He didn’t.” Said one of the Dark Ones, and Emma didn’t even bother to look at the hooded illusion that stood behind her.
“Fine.” Emma then said, somewhat accepting Lily’s help but her tone still seemed rather bitter. Emma raised her hand to get rid of that darn illusion that was bothering her. “What do I need to do?”

Lily was sure that Emma was confused about why she would want to help her. She may have the darkness inside of herself, but, Emma had still been the only friend she’d ever had. It was never her she really hated anyway, it was her parents. Snow White and Prince Charming.

“Oh trust me I do.” Lily said, looking at Emma. “What about it?” Lily leant back against the table as she noticed Emma looking back at her. “That’s not all I have. It may be one of the main things. I guess it is kind of impressive. Black and white mostly.” Emma could sense that she was trying to send her away to avoid being close to anyone again. Lily had done that for as long as she could remember too, so she knew how to say things to stop it.

“Yes I do. Well, you know what? Why don’t you try me?” Lily said, a bit of an annoyed tone in her own voice too.

Lily knew that fighting it wasn’t always possible, sometimes the pull was too strong. That’s not why she had come here, but, she also wasn’t wasting Emma’s time. Lily wanted to make her point known, but, she didn’t think Emma would really listen to her. She made her point in response before, making her way out of the house.

Hearing that word, Lily stopped mid-step before smiling softly and then turning back around to face her. “Well, first things first. Is that you actually have to listen to me.” Lily said, glancing at Emma with a serious look on her face.

Emma shook her head at Lily, the girl probably had no clue of what real darkness was. Some mere bad decisions were nothing compared to the real darkness Emma now possessed.
“No, you don’t.” Emma replied, rather coldly. “You don’t have all the past dark ones mocking you, you can’t use dark magic, you’re not tethered to a dagger that can kill you, all you can do is change into a dragon. You call that darkness? Please.” She added, her voice raising a little bit. It was obvious that this conversation was beginning to get on her nerves.

Emma really disliked people who tried to relate to her, what she’d gone through. And she definitely wasn’t going to break down her walls just for Lily. She had to save Killian, save her family; and all Lily was doing was delaying that. How was she supposed to get Lily to leave?
“Simple.” Said one of the Dark Ones, and it was only then that Emma recognized the face that was hidden by the cloak.
Nimue.
Emma glared off into the distance. “Just squeeze her throat, here, let me help.” Nimue said, amusement in her voice.
Emma looked rather bewildered at Lily when she raised her own hand and tried to choke the girl through her dark magic.
Objecting to that kind of treatment, Emma looked at Nimue; who was simply an illusion to Emma. “No- that’s not what I meant.” Her gaze quickly went back to Lily, and in a matter of seconds, the choking hold was gone. Emma held the arm that disobeyed her, looking shaken; sort of mortified to be honest. She knew that if she’d let anyone help her; they’d die.

“Lily you have to get out of here, it’s not safe..” Emma said, her voice restrained, like she was still fighting something off.
This was Emma’s biggest fear, hurting the people she loved and cared about; which proved the fact that she should remain isolated. The only person that managed to help get rid of the voices was Killian, so Emma was doubting that Lily could help her at all. She had no trust in this situation.

Lily was sure that their darknesses were different, but, it still didn’t mean that she didn’t know how to handle it.

“You know, there’s a lot you don’t know about me” Lily said, feeling the anger inside of her. “You’re right, I don’t have that, but, there is a lot that I do have. It’s way more then just the dragon transformation inside.”

Lily didn’t relate to a lot of people, not just by choice. But, Emma was one person she’d felt any kind of connection with. She wasn’t trying to delay anything, but, all she wanted was to try and help the only real friend she’d ever had. Whether she wanted it or not.

She knew that Emma was probably not going to listen, but, Lily knew that she could be as stubborn as she was. Lily wasn’t going anywhere in a hurry, and, all she wanted was to know her friend was still in there somewhere.

Lily suddenly felt herself being in a choke hold. Her gaze went to Emma’s eyes, wondering why she was doing that. But, it also might not be completely her.

“What do you mean I have to get out of here?” Lily asked, kind of confused right now.

Once again, was she being sent away by Emma? Lily wasn’t going to let her get rid of her again, at least not right away. Lily wasn’t sure she’d be able to completely help Emma get rid of the voices, but, there would be a way to make them not as strong.

Emma showed no emotion when Lily said there was a lot that Emma didn’t know about her. She did, for a fact know one thing.
“I know you were a liar. Probably still are.” Emma crossed her arms once again. “And what is that? Hit me in the face? I’m sorry but that doesn’t work now, I’m the Dark One.” She looked rather cocky at that, even though she regret saying that. It was for Lily’s own good, Emma might be able to get Lily to leave again.
She really wanted Lily to help her, but it was obvious that if the dragon girl stayed here; she too, would be hurt by Emma.
She was bound to hurt the ones that were close to her, that’s why she was isolated right now; because they were avoiding her.
Still holding her arm, Emma bit back wanting to scream at Lily, that she should run; that she had to leave her alone “Just.. go. It’s not safe. I don’t want to hurt you.” She said, her voice thick with fear.
Emma just shook her head, Lily wasn’t going to leave her alone, wasn’t she? Fine. Then Emma was the one who had to just leave.
Without saying anything further, Emma cloaked herself in black smoke and vanished; towards the docks. She hoped Lily wouldn’t find her there, but it was probably inevitable.

ily wasn't really open with most people, but, with Emma it was a bit easier. But, there was alot that no-one knew about her. Not even Emma.

"Maybe I am a liar. But, that's not entirely my fault" Lily felt herself getting angry at Emma, but, she was't going to act on it. "Why bother? You obviously don't care. I already hit you once, Dark One or not, it won't change anything." Lily sighed softly before leaning back against the table. Lily was feeling kind of hurt, but, she wasn't going to let it get to her.

Lily could help Emma, all she had to do was let her.

She knew about isolating herself, and, it didn't really help anything in the end.

Lily's gaze went to Emma's grip as it was on her arm, squeezing it tightly. "I'm not leaving." Lily was stubborn when it came to helping someone she cared about, whether Emma wanted her there or not. Or whether she would listen to her at all.

Raising her eyebrows in surprise when Emma disappeared, Lily sighed softly before stepping off of the desk. She wasn't sure Emma wanted to be followed, but, Lily didn't care. Lily was probably one of the only people who could help, so, she would try a bit more. No matter what it took.

Emma raised her hand as if she tried to make Lily stop talking, though remained careful enough so that she wouldn't use her dark magic. Sure, it wasn't Lily's fault for being this way; but she could have chosen not to lie on that fateful day, right?
She definitely noticed that she was getting on Lily's nerves. Whether that was a bad thing, that was something she wasn't sure of.

Ignoring that comment about the fact that Lily did hit her before, Emma took a step back; not out of precaution or anything, just to take her distance from her so she could build her walls back up.
Emma showed a flash of hurt, and what might have been regret when Lily told her she wouldn't leave. So when Emma dissolved into smoke and reappeared at the docks she simply stood there watching over the water. A part of her wanted Lily to help her, but there was also a part that told her she was better off alone.

Confused, she looked down at her hands that had almost choked the life out of Lily. Emma shut her eyes and then balled her hands into fists. She had to man up, she had to find out a way to pull Excalibur out of a stone and that was something only she could do. Lily couldn't help her in that.

Lily wasn't one to give up on anything, Emma may have constantly walked away from her, but, she wasn't walking away from her. On some level it may have seemed like her fault, but, it wasn't. The darkness had caused her to do those actions that led her to have Emma walk away.

Watching Emma back away, Lily put her hands in her pockets. She meant what she said about not leaving, but, at the same time she was trying to keep her walls up. Lily didn't know what to do when Emma disappeared into the puff of smoke.

Exiting the room, Lily had one sure way to find her easily. She sighed softly before turning herself into her dragon form, and, as quickly as she could made her way into the air to see all of Storybrooke at once.

Lily slowed down, as she saw Emma by the docks. Landing smoothly on the path just beside Emma, Lily went back into her human form. She caught her breath before standing up and, making her way slowly towards Emma, but, keeping a bit of a distance back from her.
